The two leading causes of death were acute cardiac failure from hypertensive heart disease and cranio-cerebral injury from blunt-force trauma.
Deaths in custody need to be properly investigated and particular attention needs to be paid to unlawful deaths if and when they arise.

We included a total of 222 eyes of 111 children (54 obese children and 57 healthy subjects). Capillary vessel density (VD) of superficial (SCP) and deep (DCP) retinal capillary plexuses were measured in macular slabs. Peripapillary region was also evaluated. The FAZ parameters were measured based on the whole retinal slab. A commercial optical coherence tomography-angiography system was used.
The mean ages were 13.33?±?2.55?years (range, 8-17) and 13.41?±?2.90?years (range, 7-18) in patients with obesity and healthy controls, respectively (?=?0.84). The mean area of the FAZ were 0.278?±?0.10?mmand 0.272?±?0.11?mmin children with obesity and in control participants, respectively (?=?0.68). There were significant increases in the superior region of the parafoveal VD of SCP (?=?0.008 for superior hemisphere and ?=?0.003 for superior quadrant). There was no significant difference in any measure of the macular DCP and peripapillary region (?>?0.05, for all).
Increased vascular density measurements were found in the superior part of the parafoveal region of SCP in children with obesity. The results of the study should be taken into consideration during the course of the disease to define whole systemic response to obesity in childhood and will be of interest for pediatrician's clinical practice.

Evaluate the Quality of Life (QoL) and its associated factors of primary caregivers of bipolar and schizophrenic subjects.
A cross-sectional survey was conducted from 2012 to 2015 with 125 caregivers at an outpatient service of a teaching hospital in the South of Brazil. QoL instruments (WHOQOL-Bref, SF-36), questionnaires regarding socio-demographic, clinical data and depressive symptoms (BDI) were applied.
Caregivers of schizophrenic individuals presented lower QoL scores than caregivers of bipolar individuals, with moderate effect in physical, and social domains of WHOQOL-Bref, and in physical functioning, role-physical, and role-emotional domains of SF-36. QoL scores of caregivers were lower when compared with the normative data of the Brazilian population. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/rin1.html The factors associated with lower QoL scores were patient diagnosis of schizophrenia, female gender, presence of clinical disease and presence of depressive symptoms in the caregiver.
Caregivers of patients with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder present a significant impairment in their QoL when compared with the general population, highlighting the relevance of developing support programs in the mental health services that include these caregivers.

We hypothesized that there would be no difference between recurrence rates with these 2 surgical options.
We retrospectively reviewed the charts of all patients with a dorsal ganglion cyst undergoing either open or arthroscopic surgical excision at a single academic center with 3 fellowship-trained attending hand surgeons from 2012 to 2017. Charts were identified using codes and were reviewed using postoperative office notes for preoperative and postoperative symptoms, episodes of recurrence, time at which recurrence occurred, subsequent operations, and outcome at final follow-up.
The charts of 172 patients undergoing either arthroscopic or open dorsal ganglion excision were reviewed. Nine of 54 (16.7%) arthroscopic excisions resulted in cyst recurrence, while 8 of 118 (6.8%) open excisions resulted in cyst recurrence (= .044). Two o recurrence rate than does arthroscopic excision. In order to meet the needs of the COVID-19 public health crisis and to actively engage students in patient care opportunities, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in partnership with the Tennessee Health Department, developed a remote Public Health Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Elective. The objectives of this paper are to describe the development of and students' experiences and learning outcomes during the elective. Faculty preceptor and experiential administrator's perspectives are also described.
This month-long APPE was developed in mid-March and delivered in April and May of 2020. The students volunteered in-person with the State of Tennessee COVID-19 Hotline call centers and conducted topic discussions and assignments virtually with a remote preceptor.
A total of 16 students completed this rotation experience. Student ratings of the experience were positive, and their knowledge improved in all topic areas. Students collectively completed approximately 700 hours manning the COVID-19 hotline and logged over 1,000 phone calls.
In a time of unprecedented disruption to experiential learning, the development of this unique public health APPE directly benefited the college, the students, and the citizens of our state. The APPE described in this paper could be replicated in additional waves of the pandemic or adapted for similar disaster response.
